Just to have something going on in this community, I pose a question for everyone.
Charlaine Harris has said that Sookie will NOT become a vampire.
How do you each feel about this? What do you think this means for Sookie's future?
I got to meet Charlaine at a book signing today. It was fun! She was hilarious and down-to-earth and just really nice. I got my book signed, but couldn't get a picture because my digital camera doesn't like me right now.
I ask Charlaine if we should expect answers to a lot of the questions we were left with in Dead as a Doornail
(and told her that this book was just one big teaser!), and she gave a definite yes. Whoo!
I also got a little card that has the cover for the first book in the new series coming out in October, Grave Sight
. It's very strange, but quite compelling. I can't wait.
I guess anything about Dead as a Doornail should go behind a cut, but just in general there are the vampires-Bill and Eric and the shifters-Cal, Alcide and Sam.
Heading behind cut because I'm going to do spoilers for DAAD:( Read more...Collapse )
I think book six will be his turn.
Hmm. Okay, I'm very glad to be here. You might not be so glad to have me as I'm as old as dirt. Just turned 49 in fact. I'm a writer, much inspired by Charlaine Harris and, then with CH as an entry drug, Laurell K. Hamilton as well.( Read more...Collapse )
I did write one fan letter to Charlaine Harris regarding Club Dead and whether Bill would ever be allowed back into Sookie's life. She very graciously e-mailled me back.
So that's it for now. I look forward to some lively discussions.
I guess I'll make the first entry by introducing myself.
My name is Amy Stafford and I am a writer/student/bookstore employee born and raised in Texas. I have one more semester at UNT
(, where I will graduate Fall 2005 with a BA in Creative Writing, minor in Social Science. I'm considering applying a low-residency MFA program, but want to take a year off after I graduate. I'm currently trying to get some of my poetry and short stories published and am also working on a novel (one that has supernatural elements). I pay the bills by working at a Barnes and Noble. Anything else you want to know, visit my personal journal. ;)
Someone told me about the Sookie books a couple of years ago, but I didn't read them right away. I finally couldn't resist the first one because the cover art is so great and I liked that the setting is the Southern U.S.
These books have quickly become my favorite series. They are such a refreshing change from the Laurell K. Hamilton books (which, like many people, I have become upset by but still read just in case anything actually happens other than sex).
With the publication of the 5th book, surely we can get a lot more people to join this group! I want to see some fanfic and artwork!
